Knowing how to do every move is one thing. Knowing which move to make is another, and that’s the part a real test actually checks. On a unit page you already know the topic before you start. The Lab doesn’t. You hit generate, and every problem shows up with no label on it, the way it will on test day.

Four moves, in the order you meet them.

Generate a ladder
Ten rungs, from warm-up to challenge. Each one is built backwards: it starts from a clean answer and piles complications onto it in a set order. That’s why every exercise can be solved, and why you never get the same ladder twice.

Take the equation apart
Rest on any part and it tells you what it is, where it sits in the peel order, and which lesson taught it. The structure stops being something you squint at and becomes something you can point to.

Ask for a nudge, not the answer
There are three tools between you and the answer. First a question that points at the first move, then the name of that move, then the move itself done on the bench. Take as little help as you need, and stop the moment you’re unstuck.

Every step cites its lesson
The full walkthrough links every step back to the exact lesson that teaches it. That’s a hard rule, not a nice idea: if a move can’t point to a lesson we’ve already taught, it isn’t allowed in the Lab.

One per stage. Each Lab focuses on its own stage but pulls freely from everything before it, so an Algebra problem can still hide a Foundations fraction inside the solve.
